Four elven tribes maintain the cycle of seasons, migrating eternally across their mythical world of Alfheim. It is a thankless, yet sacred duty that none have blasphemed for thousands of years, but unfortunately, some new arrivals never did get the message. Faced with the total destruction of their homeworld, humans have come to Alfheim and built Exodus Landing, a small city on a mound that dares to claim permanence in an ever-changing world.

Among its inhabitants are the swashbuckling swordswoman Vimana Icke, Quentin Marshal, the last apprentice of literal technology wizards, and Sylvia, a rogue member of the spring tribe. Together with their friends, relatives and a few technomagickal abominations, they must run a gauntlet of increasingly deadly seasons to survive their first year in Alfheim. Bloodthirsty fairies, imperial tyranny, unrequited love and an army of the undead all threaten Exodus Landing, and that's if the humans don't starve right away.

The spring tribe is wary of them, the summer empire would conquer them, the raiders of autumn would eat them alive and the unliving horrors of winter want to wipe them out once and for all. It's not ideal, but Vim, the technomancer and her flower-eating elf friend might just make it work, and maybe they'll live to see another year.
