Stevie Parker is a young reporter for a major Denver newspaper. After discovering the stranger's identity (she really had no idea and feels like a fool), she sets out to get revenge by writing a series of articles about the time they spent together.

Joe Devlin, about to be named country music entertainer of the year, is also intent on revenge. He threatens to sue the newspaper Stevie works for. It is enough to get Joe exactly what he wants.
