THE GARDEN BONE is a middle-grade novel that tells the story of Wenceslao Killean, a twelve-year-old boy whose paleontologist parents died a few years earlier in a mysterious crash during a dig in Wyoming. On the anniversary of their death, Wences discovers an unusual fossil in his backyard in Berkeley, a fossil that shouldn't be there. How did that fossil get there? Why is it changing? And what else lurks in his garden? Enlisting the help of his friends Matteo and Jeanine, the kids set out on an adventure that will take them out of this world... and into trouble.
