Since the emergence of mankind Himalayas attracted every generation. Reaching Himalaya and stride over it is a long cherished dream passion of many. But only a few are fortunate to reach the expeditious destination. Mr. M. K. Ramachandran being one of them has been involved in his spiritual adventure since 1998 and known to be the most venerated ambassador of Himalayan journeys in Kerala. Being a disciple of the eminent Sanskrit Scholar Dr.Narayana Pisharody and credited with traditional Gurukula system of education, apart from his modern academics, Mr.Ramachandran’s adherence for Sanskrit language and ancient ethical wisdom imparts him a rare feat, perhaps makes him different from all other authors in the same arena. Mr.Ramachandran is known to have made his entire Himalayan pilgrimage on foot. He is the recipient of Kerala Sahitya Academy Award in 2006, for his outstanding travelogue ‘Uttarkhandiloode’.
