Xavier Aldekoa has been living in Africa for more than a decade, covering conflicts and social matters in some forty countries around the continent, producing reports and filming documentaries for the written and audiovisual press. Since 2009 he has been correspondent in Africa for the daily La Vanguardia. He has also taken part in founding international social journalism projects, among them the magazine 5W, which publishes chronicles and research reports, and Muzungu Productions. He has published the books Oceà Àfrica (Ocean Africa, in Catalan, Ara Llibres, 2017; Spanish, Editorial Península), Fills del Nil (Children of the Nile, in Catalan, Ara Llibres, 2017; Spanish, Editorial Península), África adentro (Inside Africa, 5W, 2018), and Indestructibles (Indestructible, in Catalan, Columna, 2018; Spanish, Editorial Península).
