I was born in Guyana, South America, but have lived in the United States since 1981 and I currently reside in Hutto, TX. I have been married for 19 years and am the proud mother of two wonderful teenagers. As a child, I always had my nose in a book and my desire to someday write a novel grew with each book that I read. The most positive indication that I did actually have some writing talent, occurred when I received an "A" in my creative writing class from Oscar Hijuelos, the Pulitzer Prize winning author of "The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love", who was my Professor at Hofstra University at the time. I am blessed to have many wonderful people in my life who encouraged me to pursue my dream of becoming a published writer and this, my first novel, is dedicated to them.
